As competition heats up heading into UFC 2011, emerging championship contenders are fast becoming future stars in the sport.  From Junior dos Santos to Gray Maynard, long standing titles are up for grabs this year.  This is going to be a big rush for those competing and watching, as whether you watch UFC while checking out PartyCasino.it or you're glued to the screen - or even there in person - it'll be interesting to see whether the new boys can take on the old.

Look for established competitors in nearly every weight class to face distinct challenges to hang onto their titles as these upstarts seek a higher level of competition:

  • Heavyweight Junior dos Santos

Representing the rising world class fighters in Brazil, Junior dos Santos is rapidly approaching the top ranking in the heavyweight division. With an impressive career which began in 2006, dos Santos has accumulated a record of 13-1, not to mention his 18-0 record in professional kick boxing. His UFC debut came at UFC 90 and he has won each of his major bouts, including an impressive victory over Roy Nelson at UFC 117. Viewed as a rising challenger, look for dos Santos to compete for a title in 2011.

  • Light Heavyweight Rashad Evans

His gentle smile shows the true spirit underneath the fierce MMA skills of rising light heavyweight Rashad Evans. Since winning TUF 2, he challenged Lyoto Machida at UFC 98 only to come up short. He has since honed his skills, training with Jackson’s Fighting in New Mexico to add Muay Thai to his skill set. A former college wrestler at Michigan State, he has an impressive 16-1-1 record including a quality victory over Rampage Jackson at UFC 113. Look for Evans to challenge for the title again in the summer of 2011.

  • Lightweight Gray Maynard

A fearless, rising challenger, Maynard rose from a Division I wrestling background to accumulate a 10-0-1 record in MMA. An All American wrestler, he has trained with Randy Couture to hone his skills on his quest for the title. After winning TUF 5, he went on to victories in UFC 90, 96 and 118, making him the top contender in his division.
