Few fights garner as much hype in the UFC as Liddell vs. Ortiz.

After much planning, Liddell vs. Ortiz ‘part one’ finally took place on April 2nd, 2004 at the Mandalay Bay Event Center in Las Vegas in UFC 47.

Chuck Liddell and Tito Ortiz were once sparring partners but friction dissolved that relationship. Liddell vs. Ortiz was certainly much hyped and long awaited by fans yearning for a bout between the two. It took so long for these two to finally get together so the bout was appropriately called It's On.

Did UFC 47 live up to the buzz surrounding it? Liddell made quick work of Ortiz in UFC 47, winning by TKO just 38 seconds into the second round.
Like any much anticipated fight, there is always room for a rematch. Liddell vs. Ortiz II took place on December 30, 2006 in UFC 66 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.  It produced similar results. Chuck Liddell won for a second time via TKO, taking Ortiz down in the third round.

Ortiz vs. Liddell was so big it even carried over into a television show. Both UFC competitors were cast as opposing coaches on The Ultimate Fighter which is broadcasted on Spike Television.

UFC fans will be happy to know the history of Liddell vs. Ortiz won't stop there. Liddell will be facing Tito Ortiz at UFC 115 in Vancouver on June 12, 2010.  Thank goodness for UFC fighters’ longevity!
Liddell vs Ortiz III could be a chance for Ortiz to finally redeem himself after a pair of losses. Liddell will once again be looking for an early TKO if history repeats itself.
