Go ahead, open up the UFC file labeled:  Bisping, Michael.  Here's what you'll find on this European sensation who is preparing for another big fight.

Bisping MichaelMichael Bisping was born in Cyprus in 1979 and became interested in martial arts when he was just eight years old. He trained in Yawara Ryu Jiu-Jitsu under the tutelage of Paul Lloyd Davies. Davies organized a no holds barred event which Bisping, then just fifteen, would complete in. This was the first of its kind in England.

At the age of nineteen, Bisping began training for kickboxing and karate. He earned the North West Area title and then became two time Pro British light heavyweight kickboxing champ. Unfortunately, his career would fall victim to the need to hold a full time job.  Just as fans were starting to Google Bisping Michael was shoved into the background.

In the summer of 2003 Michael found his former coach Davies who now owned a mixed martial arts gym. Under the guidance of Davies, Bisping embarked upon his new career as a MMA fighter. He learned new skills and techniques from Davies, who offered to be his trainer and manager.

On April 4, 2004 Michael had his first professional MMA match with Steve Mathews, who taped out due to an armbar by Bisping. This opened the doors for his time at Cage Rage.

During his third MMA match versus Mark Epstein at the event of Cage Rage 7; Michael Bisping won via TKO to become the Cage Rage Light Heavyweight Champ. He defeated Mark Epstein in a rematch earning him the respect that was well due an athlete of his caliber. From there he moved on to focus on his kickboxing career and earned the light heavyweight title in Cage Warriors.

In fall of 2005, Cage Rage would strip Bisping of his title because of controversy with his completing in other promotions; although Bisping never was unwilling to defend his Cage Rage title.

Michael Bisping debuted in the UFC in early 2006 on the show The Ultimate Fighter. During the show he proved to be a dominating force becoming only the second light heavyweight to win and claiming a contract with the UFC.

Currently, that bulging Bisping Michael file lists an impressive MMA record of 19-3-0.  He's now in training for his next match. At UFC 114 on Saturday May 29 in Las Vegas, NV he'll take on Dan Miller in a highly anticipated bout.

Bisping is a great guy to deal with. You talk to him, rather than to his Manager or Agent, and he is as personable and agreeable as can be. We are his official online memorabilia dealer and currently await his next trip to the States in order to do our initial autograph signing with him. We will also be offering some of his fight-worn gear through our website.
